With the advent of the global financial recession, many people have suddenly found themselves out of work. This is saddening, of course, and we all wish that things pick up soon. However, one cannot be idle while all this occurs.

Unfortunately, finding a job is no easy task at this point in time. The majority of companies are undergoing corporate downsizing; hiring new blood is the last thing on their minds right now. In addition, some companies that are in the brink of collapse are desperately hiring people; if you land a job there, you'll only be disappointed when the company shuts down in a few months.

So, how to keep from totally depleting and emptying your finances? How you do get back up, when the work you'll find will probably just end up cutting you lose as a result of more downsizing?

My suggestion is, go back to your roots. Instead of yielding to the corporate fallacy of security that weakened the global economy, think back to a time when you were young and carefree. What activity gave you pleasure back then? Did you like to paint? Or maybe, you spent time in the kitchen baking cakes and cookies? Or maybe even like me, you have a passion for carving mundane wood into awesome items?

I'm sure you have a talent hidden there somewhere, so why not show the whole world what you can do? There is an abundance of craft shows that occur in Florida on a daily basis, and it's a good idea if you set up a booth in a few of them. You'll even earn a bit to get by this crisis.

Do not be afraid to hone those talents once again. Even if it has been a long time since you practiced your craft, a few weeks of practice ought to put your drive back to shape. And as long as you pour your heart into what you're doing, you will come up with the most expressive and exquisite of crafts.
