Young Living Company was started in 1989 in Spokane, Washington, by Gary Young. With his background and experience in Agriculture, on a small piece of land just about quarter acre, he grew Lavender and some other herbs.
He built a make shift distiller, by joining two pressure cookers with a brass pipe. Once the crop matured he processed it in his distiller and this yielded the first batch of the Company's therapeutic oil!! This was the humble beginning of the Young Living Company.
They decided to increase production. Therefore, they bought land in St Maries Idaho to grow more Lavender and other aromatic plants. A low pressure low temperature distillation plant was also built. This way, they increased the production of Lavender and other plants in a gradual manner and also installed a number of more distillation boilers. This was followed, by purchase of some land in France, as well.
A Corporate office was opened in Lehi, Utah in 2003. Presently, the Company also has offices in Japan, Europe and Australia.
The Company maintains required quality of its products as it grows plants and herbs, basic essential ingredients on its own land. Distilling process is also very important. Gentle, under controlled pressure and temperature distilling is followed. Thorough testing helps in quality control.

Essential Oils: These can be taken internally, used aromatically or applied . The Brand supplies over 130 different essential oils and oil blends.
Essential Nutrition: This encompasses oils which blend well with foods and the body gets essential nutrients.
