People thirst for summer like cold water on a hot day in July. Nothing sounds sweeter while in the midst of a sociology test. However, once summer break begins teens often find themselves sitting around with nothing to do. They get burnt out on the pool once they get a sun burn and the mall gets pointless when they run out of money, so where to go? One good idea is to go to an art show. Art shows will most likely be free and are a fun creative event to spend a night on. Another great idea is spending the day at the museum. If you can get into a free museum, its such an awesome deal.
Museums can be expensive, but you're paying to fill up an entire day. Often, tickets include multiple exhibits and some kind of show. Each exhibit can take an hour to get through, and its a great way to learn and have fun at the same time. If the museum has an imax theater, going to that can a very good time. Its like seeing a movie, but being in it at the same time. Seeing an imax film can be the funnest way to end a day at the museum.
Another great way to spend a summer day is go check out all your local thrift stores. Naturally, to do so you will need a car or a friend with a car. Thrifting saves you money and is always so much fun. If you are having trouble finding legitimate clothing choices at a store, just have a blast by trying on the goofiest stuff you can find. Thrift stores are always full of funky clothes from the nineties and eighties, so there is no doubt you can find some really weird outfits to put on. A must for all thrifting days is a camera though!
If your city has a lot of religious schools and churches, they will most likely have festivals during the summer. Hop online and look up festivals in your area and mark the dates on your calendar. Going to these festivals is a great way to spend an evening while supporting your community. Plus, there is always the possibility to meet a guy or girl whose also bored, you two may end up spending the rest of your summer evenings together. Don't shut your mind off to going on adventures and doing new things during the summer.
Summer is such a great opportunity to do all the fun things you missed out on during the school year. You have three months to do whatever you want. The the only issue is sometimes you run out of things to do, or cant think of anything exiting. The trick is to keep your options open and explore everything. Call up your more distant friends who you haven't hung out with and do something spontaneous. Summer is an opportunity to make memories, so take it. Don't put anything out of mind that sound like it could be fun.
