Renewable Energy - Will Wind Farms Follow the High Expectations

The United Kingdom's government pledged to lower the UK's carbon emissions by eighty percent by 2020 compared to 1990 levels. Recently, however, UK public has begun to wonder if the government is as dedicated to the cause as they claim to be.

An influential website, Wallstreetpit.com, said in a recent article that BP, a large energy company with headquarters in the UK, is closing down its Chinese, Turkish, Indian and British projects and focusing their attention on the United States. The same article implies that approximately thirty percent of the energy supply for the UK is supposed to come from windfarms. There were calls from opinion leaders in the UK asking the government why it has allowed BP to focus on the US when it (the government) says the future of British energy is green.

According to an article by the Guardian, Great Britain is one of the best locations in the world to be home to wind technology development. The popularity of Great Britain is owed mostly to the long coastline and good wind conditions that the country is famous for.

This same article names a new partnership between two major wind technology companies, Iberdola Renewables and Vattenfall, which will be building a new wind farm in the UK. This wind farm will cost 780m pounds to build and have an expected output of 300MW. Is it the pulling out of BP that allows for this new joint venture to be built? Why is wind technology being left up to private enterprise if the government is supposed to be fully behind it?

More criticism has been lodged about the funding and difficult to understand planning that the government will need if it does, indeed, plan to invest so much of its attention to green energy. If wind farms are supposed to be responsible for thirty percent of the United Kingdom's energy supply, a large number of farms will need to be constructed to keep up with the energy demand. An independent group, The Carbon Trust, estimates that the building of these windfarms will need to speed up considerably and, at the same time; the project budget will need to cut about sixteen billion pounds from its original projections. A website called Redgreenandblue.com says that only twenty five percent of the windfarms the UK needs will actually be constructed by the self imposed 2020 deadline.

UK residents understand that the future of energy production lies with renewable energy and not the existing power grid. Renewable energy is more cost effective and is better for the environment than the current system. Still, with so many roadblocks in the way, each one of us should be wondering just how serious the UK government's commitment to renewable energy is. If it is truly committed why is the project slowing down and losing money? What is getting in the way of the 2020 goal?

Does Your Medical Billing Company Have The Right Incentives?

The choice to outsource your medical billing can yield substantially better results than the choice to keep billing in-house. Why? Because a properly structured outsourced billing relationship insures that the medical billing company succeeds by making you succeed.

In most situations (and make sure this is the case for your medical billing service) the billing company only gets paid when the practice gets paid while a practice's in-house staff gets paid irrespective of results. There is also an incentive for the billing company to perform better - the better it performs the more it collects for the practice and in turn the more it earns (and vice versa). This is not true for in-house staff whose wages are typically fixed irrespective of performance and quality of work.

This is a critical distinction that is easily missed because of the misplaced belief that if the billers work for the practice then they care more about its collections. I am not saying they do not care, but I am saying that when your biller has their economic incentives completely aligned with yours (as with a medical billing service) it makes a big difference in how they think about your medical billing and how well they perform their job.

In a recent meeting with a multi-physician provider practice I was told a tale that I have heard many times before. One of the offices multiple medical billers was out for a few days. While she was out her supervisor was looking through the billers desk for some information that was needed. What she found was over $40,000 worth of old claims that the biller had stuck in her bottom drawer and never billed. As if this was not bad enough, almost all of the claims were beyond the timely filing deadlines and the money was lost forever. When the medical biller was back in the office she was reprimanded for this horrendous error. She was not terminated - she kept her job despite the fact the office lost thousands of dollars because of this horrific medical billing performance.

When I asked the doctor why a more severe action was not taken, he explained to me that "we already have staffing problems and did not want to alienate the billing staff any further." The guilty biller was apparently moved to the front-desk role and is now responsible for gathering demographic information and money.

There should be safety nets in place to catch $40,000 in missing claims. So how could this have gone unnoticed until a desk excavation? The office did not track and reconcile charges, payments or write-offs. The doctors had been told that the practice's system could not report at this level. The system, however, indeed had the capability to do this, but the billing staff did not know how to properly use it. Without the the fully aligned incentives of a medical billing company, the investment is often not made to full utilize the capabilities of a practice's medical billing system. $40,000 in missing charges is likely only the tip of the ice berg for this medical practice.

Utilizing a medical billing service that meets the following criteria can help you avoid a medical billing horror story like the one above:

- A fully integrated tracking system (charges by locations/provider and payments by source - lock box, office, PO Box) should be in place and you should have full visibility into the system at all times.

- Your medical billing company should reimburse your practice for what you would have been paid by the payers based on your allowable for any claims that go past timely filing for reasons within the medical billing company's control. What this means is that you never suffer financially if the billing company drops the ball. Try to have your billers reimburse you if they drop the ball.

- The practice should always (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) have access to the medical billing companies system. This allows the practice to see at any time exactly what is happening with their account.

Physicians are working harder for less as costs rise and reimbursements fall. This is exacerbated by selecting a medical billing approach that does not have the proper alignment of incentives to prevent disasters (such as $40,000 in unbilled charges) from occurring.

Without properly aligning the incentives (both upside and downside consequences) of in-house medical billers, you can rest assured that history will likely repeat itself and the biller that lost $40,000 in charges is unlikely to excel at demographic collections.

A judicious selection of a medical billing company that meets the criteria outlined above is your most direct and reliable method for avoiding your own medical billing horror stories.

Next, you can raise your credit score by opening a new savings or checking account. You should also apply for a secured credit card. This secured card will have a lower limit and a higher interest rate however,by paying the monthly credit card bills on time you will be able to see a significant rise in your credit history report.

Follow these steps you will eventually start to see a good credit rating. However, your past credit history will remain on the "books". This does not expire for 5 to 7 years. You must remember that it does take time to raise your credit rating. You must be patient and diligent to see a change.

That is why it is very important to make positive reports for your creditors. They then will pass those on to credit reporting agencies. Remember to pay your loans and credit cards on time in order to get a good credit rating. By doing so you will eventually end up with a good credit score and history. Never miss out on a future financial opportunity when they come your way.

Research requires due diligence on your part, spend time with research. You must know the average selling price on eBay of the product you have decided to sell. On the main search page, located to the right of the search button is an [Advanced Search] button. Next, open the Advanced Search link, enter a keyword(s) for your product.

What you do next is by selecting your related category, then the completed listings link, then search. You are now seeing on your monitor closed auctions for products you are considering selling. Green means a sold product. Red means an auction item that did not sell. Black means the product did not sell, and was originally listed as a Buy it Now listing. Forward this critical data to a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel.

In addition, understanding how culture affects satisfaction and perceived service quality is an interesting point. The certain potential antecedents of customers' purchase behaviors like customers' buying decision style are uncontrolled because of the limitation of setting. Incorporating these effects may yield useful insights.

We will do all the work marketing your business on the internet, and you won't have to do a thing.

They leave their 800 number, then rattle on a little more maybe about their website to go to. I've been getting on the average 1 or 2 of these each week lately. People preying on those in hard times looking for an opportunity. And really, opportunity seekers are not looking for a business, their looking for a financial miracle like a winning lottery ticket.

This is a big problem that has developed in this industry over the past couple of years. You have people trying to sell others on a business where they have to do nothing in return to make money, and this is focusing on selling a system which only caters to weakness, and those that join these progams always fail because they bought into a business of hope.

From a marketing standpoint this might look like a great idea and make sense. But when it comes to networking, and building a strong business, it's better to learn how to become a leader. Not cater to a weakness that will bring failure. Anyone getting involved in a business this way are purchasing hope and that is lethal.

Looking for success outside of yourself is only ignorance at it's best. Being in your own home business will not determine a thing, especially at the hands of someone else running the show for you. Nothing or nobody, will empower you, that has to come from you and you only.

What I've learned is that there is no quick fix or get-rich hype that is real. I bought all kinds of products, jumping from one hyped program to the next. I tried it all, but I lacked focus! The key is to focus in a particular area and stay with it. Whether PPC (pay per click) is your thing, selling you're own products, selling affiliate products or whatever ... it's important to take action and stay the course. But whatever it is, building your own list is a top priority in determining your ultimate success.

When I began my internet marketing online experience, I made the big mistake of starting with affiliate marketing building someone else's mailing list. The training material was fantastic, very detailed and comprehensive. I soon discovered that I was really building a list for someone else the was not in my control. I am quite sure I made a great positive impact on his affiliate marketing business. Wow, what a learning experience!

Internet marketers are everywhere and the "gurus" have made a ton of money, I guess! Much of it from people who lacked focus, like me, and have hopped from one supposedly hot program to the next without having much follow through on any of them. It's easy to get caught up in all the hype and find yourself consistently spending money. The one thing that I eventually did to help me focus and stop believing every hyped up sales page is to identify the few genuine successful internet marketers and become a student. I was cautious though, as there are many claiming to mentor, but offer nothing more First Alert notifications so they can keep you program jumping exclusively through them.

In my opinion, building a list and over-delivering value to that list is the path to success. By connecting with a mentor that does just that is what I have done. You can find any kind of product you're looking for on-line. If you have money available, you may find that paying for advertising of your product or service works for you. You'll find all the "gurus" say the money is in the list and they're so right. In this competitive market, I truly believe that list building is critical, and the money really is in the list.

What do I mean by building a list? It's a process where you collect names and email addresses from people interested in how you can help them. Whether you have some great service, such as ways they can obtain free targeted traffic to their business, or other high value information or product to help them become successful, they will appreciate you and become loyal, if you are for real. Making money online is a business and should be treated like one. In other words, you need to provide something of value so you establish a long-term relationship with your customer.

It is my experience that list building and helping your customer's succeed is the key to succeeding and thriving online.
